Things I'd really like to see:
- Observer Mode
- More spells working like firestorm (didn't Anet say they were going to eventually change most/all those area spells to finish casting even if your target dies?)
Those are about the only two things I'm waiting for right now.

Observer mode- they are already planning this, just be patient
The latter - This is already in effect, but the oppisite way, When the caster dies the spell still goes on. I was facing some Renegade Elementalists and they cast fire storm, I killed them in the middle of casting it, it still went off.

If there's an update: GREAT!
If not: I'll keep playing.
I'm not expecting an update but if one comes, that's terrific! If they need to wait another week, so be it. I'd rather have a nicely polished update with lots of new little doo hickies to find and discover than have them shove something half-baked out the door.

That will probably come more when they add the new areas. Until then, who knows?

I am just eager to see this new PvE content they said they were working on two weeks ago. I like PvP and all and I do it about 1/5 of the time I play now that i have some higher level PvE characters and skills unlocked. But I will admit honestly and openly I am a quest wh0re, I am anal about making sure I do every single quest/mission/bonus. Although the bonus part has become a bit more difficult since the Glade.

We're still planning to release these new areas, and you'll be seeing a little more of this very shortly. We know there's a lot of players out there looking forward to the live update (either for the new content or the new features such as Observer Mode). Just keep an eye on the site.

I agree 100%... quality is the key. The PvP rewards system wasn't ready in time, so they waited another week. I would MUCH rather wait another week for excellent material than get buggy, non-functioning crap this week. Case in point... Knights of the Old Republic 2. LucasArts wanted it out for the holiday season, so they ship it half finished... bugs all over the place, unfinished quests, you name it. ANet, take all the time you need. I'm still buying the next expansion.

New areas. New items. New skills.
However, that's been a little too optimistic.

In this update, I would like new stuff. If I read the update notes and there is a list of new stuff that is small and they are things I will never use, I will still be content.
I trust ANet is making the right decisions (on ALL updates), and releasing the new goodies as they are ready and as they see fit. It seems as though they actually give a damn about the community, and for that they have my respect (and my money for the expansions )
However, many things I would really like to see will probably come in the expansions (Different kinds of PvP being one I seriously want), and that the updates will have little things (but they are still cool, like the dwarven ale )

The next update should focus more on PvE improvements. There was a message on the Guildwars update page that basically said after this large PvP update they will focus on a PvE update. Sadly the message was removed when the real patch update message was added so i can't find the actual message.

My two best hopes:
1) Improved Henchmen AI
2) Fixed refund points from PvP.

I'm hoping they'll return experience point rewards to PvP. As it is, it's pretty fecking lame having folks in the Ascalon Arena with Droknar's armor and elite skills.
Replacing PvP exp would force these characters to level eventually, rather than sitting around farming faction points in the newbie arena.

In case y'all didnt realize, monday was a holiday (for you USA folks). So, even if Anet does still intend on the "one update per week" model then this week would be screwed up anyways. Assuming the they were to play by the "wednesday is update day" then either it would be delayed until tomarrow OR they'd wait for the NEXT "update wednesday".
Anyhoo, I personally feel that they should start stretching out their update windows. Every 2, 3, or even 4 weeks. People are starting to EXPECT these updates and, really, they shouldn't be.
The way I see it, the majority of the people who are eyeballing the update page like a hawk are probably kind'a bored with Guild Wars at the moment and no matter what the update is they will be disappointed and immediately start waiting for the next.

I look forward to every update for every game. When I was into Warcraft III, every update was a big thing, so that kind of thinking transferred over to Guild Wars.

I know it's in the works, I'd just be very happy if it came out soon.
And any caster should know what I meant by the second part - you start casting meteor shower, and then a split second before it goes off, your target dies, the game gives you "Invalid Target", and you're 25 energy down with more exhaustion. They fixed firestorm so it still goes off (hence most people see battles ending with Orion's Firestorm going off ) even if your target dies.
